Named for the bikes that would carry people across the no-man’s land on the Kenya-Uganda border, Boda Bodas are Chinese motorbikes that have revolutionised transport across Africa, becoming a culture in themselves. Experience African travel in authentic style by taking your own bike on an adventure through the real Kenya, experiencing the sights and cultures of a vanishing world.

Starting from the Lattitude base, you head north with your gear, either packed onto your bike or in a support vehicle following behind. Spend the nights sleeping under the stars and dine in local villages. This trip aims to immerse yourself in the real Africa. Not for the faint-hearted, this type of travel is for the experienced rider as you will spend long days in the saddle and ride over varying landscapes. Itineraries can be developed to suit your group.

A minimum of 2 pax and a maximum of 4 pax.

The Kipsing Camp is located on the edge of the Kipsing lugga, 5km upstream from the Ewaso Nyiro river. The lugga runs only during heavy rainstorms and feeds into the mighty Ewaso Nyiro river, the life-blood of the north providing much-needed water for the wildlife and cattle of the Samburu area.

The campsite is beneath the dappled shade of dozens of 100-year-old Yellow Fever trees providing much need respite from the scorching African sun. An airstrip is located a few kilometres east of the camp making it easily accessible by fixed wing aircraft. There is also an all-weather road into the camp from Isiolo town, which takes about two hours.

*Caution should be taken during the rainy months when the dry riverbeds are prone to flood.

West of the camp is the Kipsing town, which provides an interesting insight into how the local Samburu people go about their daily routines. The Ewaso Nyiro is a great spot to cool down in the heat of the day, wallowing in refreshing waters with a cold drink in hand.

Amory’s vast knowledge and experience of the African continent, as well as his passion for adventure, makes him the perfect person to help you plan your personalised adventure. He and his team are among the best in Kenya at building camps in the wilderness that are wonderfully comfortable without allowing you to forget the natural beauty that surrounds you.

You dream the destination – we make it happen. From camps on the shores of Lake Turkana, the edge of the Chalbi Desert or the base of the Ndoto mountains – nowhere in the north is inaccessible to the Lattitude team.
